My old love is back…this time more intrigued, more enchanting, consuming hell lot of time. No she is not a petite beauty or something. Its my love towards comics. I love reading comics. There was a time when after returning from school, the very first chore used to be lie down on stomach and read comics. I had amazing concentration and ability to read comics for longer hours. Rather I should say that I used to study them. After finishing one comic another starts and story used to go on.
Few days back, one of my friends brought some comics in form of pdf files. I was exhilarated to see my old obsession; Nagraj, SCD, Bankelal, Bhokal and many more. I was just happy to the cores, I finished almost all of them in few days and started searching online. During this spree I came to know a hard fact that Indian comic industry is in moribund stage and most of the publications have died out except few who also are in frail situation. The reason is simple change of preference, advent of internet, new online games, social networking sites, and above all piracy has hit hard these publications. Some people site lack of fund coupled with old story lines as plausible reasons. Whatever may be the reasons but comic character cannot die in hearts of fans like me, I love them and would love to read them.
